I've got a plate of food in front of me, an Amstel right to my left and a glass of water to my right. I'm back in JFK airport. While this week was filled tears, it was also filled with family. The chance to see relatives I saw two weeks ago but also a chance to see some I'd never met before. It's a surreal feeling seeing your grandmother dead but at the same time an opportunity to meet new people.
Sometimes it feels like I've been living in an airport for the last two weeks and some will agree that's probably true. But I feel blessed to have the chance to travel like this and to also see those I love. Before I say anymore, let me remember why I am here.
I'm excited to travel back to DC to see everyone I've missed, to get back to work and to make sure the hill is kept in check.
Take these chances.
