College Hoops Blog
Probably one of my favorite reads on the internet and something I check far too often, Big Ten Wonk. A lot of statics but some of the best analysis about the Big Ten, that's thoughtful, creative and quite frankly right.

Well I took a month off.
Don't worry the blog is still here. I've been slowly testing some other ideas. I'd like to finally buy some web space. One of these weekends I'll finally cave and buy some but for the time being I'm going to continue to rock out here. I think it's time for a huge update. What I'm doing, where I'm going and where I've been.
Music: The new year brought a lot of new music to my computer. I think I've finally gotten out of the my "The National" only phase, I might be taking a break from them but they are in the process of finishing a yet to named album. It should drop sometime this spring. Speaking of this spring, the Dave Matthews Band, as I'm sure most of you know, my all time favorite, will be releasing a new album sometime this spring as well. Rashawn Ross, DMB's trumpet player, posted a bit of information on his myspace. Saying the album is almost complete, but commenting he needs to finish some of the horn sections. Rumors have finally surfaced about the album. I'm not going to get into those right now, isn't my place to talk about those right now. I'm still spinning at the Impact, and I'll be honest, a lot of people get bored after a while of just being a DJ and sort of fall to the way side. But I really enjoy the time I spend there, the chance to work with some really great people is amazing. The Impact is finishing it's High-Definition conversion, The State News reported it today.
East Lansing: I'm living off campus and really enjoying it. I live with a great group of guys. I thought it would be far away from a lot of East Lansing, but it's proven much closer via the Cata than I thought it would be. How many people will have the chance to say they lived on Grand River Ave? Probably a lot but I think it's cool.
Spartan Sports: Those who know me know, I'd do anything for a Spartan win and when we don't win, I always lose a little bit of my heart. I think expectations have grown too high for this season for men's basketball and they might be too low for ice hockey. The Spartan hockey team only has one game remaining versus a good team, and that's Michigan. The rest are with the bottom half of the CCHA. The Spartans should be a number 2 seed going into the NCAA's. Back to basketball, I went on the IZZONE road trip to Penn State this year, it was great to be with a group of kids who love the Spartans as much as I do. I think I also found a bit of pride there too, no matter what happens, I will always demand excellence but I will take them over anyone else no matter how bad the times get. I stuck with the Tigers and it finally paid off, one of the best feelings I've ever had about a sports team. I'll take the Bears in the super bowl, Payton Manning can not win the big game, never has, never will.
I think that's enough for now. I'll be back hopefully before the month is through.

First NFL game
I've never been to a Lions game before, maybe its because we aren't very good at all or tickets are a bit harder to get than the Tigers. Either way I'm going to my first NFL game tomorrow. Steelers and Ravens. Should be fun.

Bye Bye Deer Creek
One of my most favorite places to see an outdoor concert is for sale. Seriously though some of the best DMB shows I've seen have been there. Another development victim. I don't want to make a rest in peace post in a few months. Here is the article from the Indy Star.

Spartans and Chicago State.
An ugly game which I'll give you the link to. But here are a notes I enjoyed the most.
"In a way I'm happy that we won, I'm just very, very, very disappointed in our effort. For a team to get 16 offensive boards against us is an embarrassment to everybody that ever played here."
Drew Played well in the 2nd half. But we all knew he would. And that was without starting forward Cam-Ron Clay for the second half. Jones said Clay ripped off his shirt, screamed profanity, fought with teammates and challenged Jones to a fight in the locker room at halftime.
Police got involved in the hallway outside the locker room, restraining Clay and one of his teammates as they lunged at each other. Clay was escorted away in street clothes by Breslin officials as the second half began.
Jones said Clay is off the team and that "in a different environment, I'd have no problem, I'd fight him."
And the Halftime show was okay.
